Born and raised in Ireland, Matt has always been around horses on his family farm. However, what began as riding ponies at home for fun would quickly turn into a career for Matt. His natural horsemanship and keen eye would see him quickly move up from a groom to sought after manager and rider for the biggest names in show jumping. 

In 2014, Matt joined the team of Greg Broderick and Ballypatrick Stables. Over the course of their six years together Matt fine tuned his skills working as manager, developing young horses, and accompanied Broderick and his championship horse MHS Going Global to the 2016 Rio Olympics in addition to Nations Cups across the globe and the European Championships. 

Matt met Charlotte in 2019 and quickly became an essential part of the North Star team. Serving as general manager, Matt’s experience helps him tackle all the facets of North Star, especially focusing on the development of their young horses, training Charlotte, and more. Looking to the future of North Star, Matt hopes to continue to see their young horses excel at the highest level of the sport, in addition to watching Charlotte reach championship levels across the globe.
